MTOA along with MHP Range personnel are planning on holding a 1-day SWAT event on 6/22/12 to benefit retired Trooper Buddy Blackwell. Buddy is a former MHP SWAT member and is battling cancer. We are planning on running 2-3 Entry and Sniper Events for half the day and then running some individual 3-gun and handgun matches after lunch. Registration form is attached. Get your form turned in to Randy Ruffin no later than 6/10/2012 so we can make final plans and get a headcount. Non-SWAT officers can shoot in the individual matches after lunch so let your fellow officers know.

MTOA will hold a quarterly meeting on Wednesday, 5/16/12 at MLEOTA in Pearl, MS. At this time we are planning on meeting in the range classroom. Board members need to arrive at 1000 HRS and the general meeting will be held at 1300 HRS.

We are planning a 1-day "mini" SWAT competition with some individual weapon competitions to benefit retired MHP Trooper (and former SWAT member) Buddy Blackwell. Buddy recently retired and is battling cancer.
The event is set for 6/22/12 at MLEOTA.

The 2012 NASC was held in Southaven during March 26-29, 2012. A total of 21 teams competed from Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Tennessee, Texas, California, and Michigan.

The Rankin County Metro (Countywide) SRT Team will be conducting a Basic SWAT School on May 20-25, 2011. The class will be limited to 25 participants. There will be a PT Test and Firearms qualifications on May 20, 2011. Participants must pass the PT Test and score 90 % or better on the Firearms qualifications to continue with the training. Cost for the class is $250.00 per person and payable by check to the Rankin DA Training Fund.
