MTOA QUARTERLY MEETING-JUNE 16, 2010-MLEOTA
MTOA will have a quarterly meeting on June 16, 2010 at the MLEOTA Range in Pearl, MS. All board members need to arrive at 1000 hrs. The general meeting will start at 1300 hrs. Please make every effort to attend. We have some important issues to discuss concerning this year’s conference and we need your input.

BASIC SWAT TRAINING-MERIDIAN, MS
The Meridian PD will host a Basic Swat Class during September 12-17, 2010 at the Meridian Public Safety Training Facility. Students will have to pass a 1.5 mile run, 85% on weapons qualification, and complete the obstacle course as a requirement to continue training. The cost is $375.00 per student and lodging will be at the facility. You will need at least 250 rounds of ammunition and all issued call-out gear. Basic Rifle Marksmanship School-Southaven
The Southaven Police Department is teaching a Basic Rifle Marksmanship / Sniper School on June 21st thru June 25th.
Location: Southaven Police Training Center
Cost: $250.00 per man or $500.00 per team
The class is limited to 24 officers.
This course is directed to officers that are currently assigned to a Law Enforcement S.W.A.T. Team or Military Unit, functioning as a rifle marksman.
The Officer attending this course of instruction will participate in classroom activities and marksmanship activities at various distances from the target. This course will contain shooting exercises involving physical exertion, stressful conditions, and low light conditions. The course will also cover camouflage, cover, and concealment methods. Officers will also be instructed in the areas of weapons care and cleaning, data book entry and observation skills.

Basic Swat School-Rankin Co.
The Rankin County Metro (Countywide) SRT Team will be conducting a Basic SWAT School on May 16 - 21, 2010. The class will be limited to 25 participants. There will be a PT Test and Firearms qualifications on May 16, 2010. Participants must pass the PT Test and score 90 % or better on the Firearms qualifications to continue with the training. Cost for the class is $250.00 per person and payable by check to the Rankin DA Training Fund.
