Class size: 25 officers
Location: Richland PD Range, Richland, MS
Requirements: Officers must pass weapons qualification with at least 90% score and also pass the PT test on Sunday before class starts.
Instructors: This class being taught by The Rankin County Metro SWAT Team.
Tuition: $250.00 per officer. Please make checks payable to the “Rankin DA Training Account”.

K-9 Training/Desoto Co. S.O.

Desoto County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Seminar
Lead Instructor will be Ken Licklider with Vohne Liche Kennels
Where: Hernando Ms. (15 miles south of Memphis, Tn)
When: April 20-22, 2011
Cost: $200.00 per team
There will be courses in narcotics/explosive detection as well as patrol work.
There will be real life scenarios designed to challenge your K-9 team in all
aspects of their duty. Single purpose K-9 teams are welcome. We also have
8 indoor kennels available to students on a first come first serve basis.

Narcotic/Explosive: Building searches, vehicle searches, open area, masking odors, high and low hides

Patrol: Tracking, Building Searches, Vehicles extractions, Helicopter Deployment, Gunfire, K-9 Camera system, and muzzle work

American Working Dog :will be offering certifications in
Narcotics/Explosive detection and patrol
The cost for a Single purpose will be $60.00 and a Dual purpose will be $85.00
Checks or Purchase Orders should be made out to American Working Dog. The cost for the certifications is separate from the seminar.

Tactical Handgun Class-Lamar S.O.

Lamar County Sheriff’s Department is hosting a two day 16 hour post certified Tactical Handgun Class. This class with be held on April 19th and 20th 2011. There are 20 slots for this class 4 of which are held for Lamar County Sheriff’s Department. This class requires the student to bring all issued duty gear such as web gear, gun, magazines, etc. The student is required to bring 1000 rounds of handgun ammunition and 200 rounds of long gun ammunition if you are issued one (shotgun or patrol rifle). The long gun is not required. The student needs to dress in BDU style clothing or something comfortable which can get dirty. Students will be shooting from several position. This course is funded by a Rural Training Grant through Southern Regional Public Safety Institute. There are no range fees for this course.
